Michael Schlickau participates in road world championships in Verona/Italy

Team Cologne rider Michael Schlickau was nominated by BDR Fachausschuss für Strassenradsport to race in Verona. His task was to prepare the race for Jan Ulrich (Team Deutsche Telekom) and he did that very well, leading the field in the first round of the elite race.

He is the second member of Team Cologne to race the worlds this year.

Also Michael van der Wolf will be racing for his native Netherlands at the track worldchampionships in Berlin.

Jans Koerts wins Wielerrevue. This was Jans Koerts 17th win this season and his 14th UCI win. This totals 41 wins for the Team Cologne and the 24 UCI win.

11 July 1999 Jonas Malmberg (Schauff Freestyle Team) wins World Championship in Master Class Half-Pipe, Mikael Malmberg wins World Championship on the Miniramp.

Astrid Benöhr wins Triple Ultra-Triathlon Worldchampionship
Astrid Benöhr won the first Worldchampionsgips of the triple ultra-triathlon of women in Lensahn/Germany.She finished first after 11,4 km swimming, 540 km cycling and 126,6 km running in 41:03:59 hours!
